Equipment such as shoes, cleats, shirts, shorts, shin pads and any type of brace MUST FIT PROPERLY to protect both you and your opponent!
Shin pads should cover the appropriate area on the shin and must be worn in both practice and in games.
Proper foot wear is essential to prevent injuries. It is important to gradually work in new cleats. This will prevent blisters from developing. Further more you should make sure you wear the appropriate footwear for the shape of your feet.
All gear must be checked and maintained properly on a regular basis.
Keep your soccer gear clean and sanitary. Any thing dirty may cause infection, rashes and other skin conditions.
Simple things like covering your sock over your shin pads decreases exposure of th skin for injury.
How many younger players do you see tripping over their shoes because the laces were undone and tangled up.
You should also be training and playing with the appropriate size ball for your age group.
