Yearly physicals by your family doctoris good to have so that you may be deemed fit to participate in soccer .
A Pre-season "Medical" screens the athlete for potential problems that may predispose them to injury. Preseason screening includes sport specific stress testing. A soccer players’ stress is different from a swimmers’.
A Preseason Medical alerts the person in charge of medical care about any potential medical problems the athlete might have. The medical team must be aware of this information so that they may respond to an emergency in the proper manner.
This would include the following: asthma, diabetes, cardiac (heart murmur), allergies (anaphalactic shock), previous concussion(s), reconstructive surgery and previous injuries. The prescreening also alerts your family physician to refer out to other specialists if needed. In todays society more and more children have asthma and diabetes.
